Francesca Forno (UniTrento)

Description

Francesca Forno (PhD Strathclyde University, UK) is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Trento, where she teaches Sociology and Sociology of Consumption. Her main interests concern sustainable consumption, grassroots innovations and social-eco transitions. Her particular focus in these areas is on the consequences of the spread of market-based forms of action for citizen participation and mobilisation. She has published articles and books on civic participation and social movements, conducting research on political consumerism, collaborative consumption, grassroots socio-eco innovations and alternative food networks (AFNs). Her work has appeared in leading academic journals, including The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, Journal of Consumer Culture, Southern European Society and Politics, International Journal of Consumer Studies, European Societies, British Food Journal, Food Policy and in collections of essays published by Oxford University Press, Wiley-Blackwell, Palgrave and Routledge. She is a member of numerous national and international research groups and is currently the national coordinator of the project 'MAKING FOOD DEMOCRACY. Investigating and experimenting with how food policies work'.
