Project - Tim Borgers

This project is situated in Koersel on the intersection of the Laakstraat and Breedonkstraat. It aims to make the Helderbeek more visible and accessible and does so on the plot of 3 existing buildings. The shape of the building guides your view towards the perpendicular running Helderbeek and its surrounding nature. By elevating the volume you get a clear view on this landscape. By playing with the topography a rainwater basin is created to collect rainwater from the surrounding rooftops to ensure the Helderbeek doesn’t run dry. To make this area more accessible a new slow road network is made connecting the Helderbeek to the village core and providing a safe alternative for weak road users.
